Hi, here I have seen people who say that in a game that Core 2 Duo is better than a Quad Core one.
But I see no reason why! The Quad is not better?

A dual core has a frequency higher than a quad core (equal price). Like most games that take advantage of 4 cores but only use 2 cores, it is more beneficial to have a faster than quadcore, i.e. dualcore.
Example: A E8500 (2 cores at 3.16GHz) will be more perf in games that Q6600 (4 cores at 2.4GHz).
Yes indeed it is only a question of price, as a Core 2 Duo at a given frequency is often equals to equivalent quad frequency, with a budget largely doubled. In some cases, keep all the money to make a better graphics card.
Example:
E5200: Duo 3MB cache, 2.5GHz
E8400: Duo 6MB cache, 3GHz
Q8200: Quad 4MB cache, 2.33GHz
E7300: Duo 3MB cache, 2.66GHz
E8600: Duo 6MB cache, 3.33GHz
Q8400: Quad 6MB cache, 2.66GHz
For a game or a program operated only 2 hard cores, the E5200 or E7300 will be about as effective equal frequency, and the E8400 (or frequency above), will be much more efficient.
A Core 2 Duo processor has 2 processing cores, while a Core 2 Quad processor has 4 processing cores. More cores enables your computer to multi-task (more than one thing at a time) faster and more efficiently as you have more engines spreading out the workload amongst themselves. Core 2 Quad processors are more expensive, but they are probably better to buy now if you are future proofing yourself. You don't need to worry about switching video cards, RAM etc.
personally what i believe is intel dual core 1.8 with 2 gb ram is enough for general home and office users ,bcoz the intel people are not transparent about the real difference in there productss .
But if you are a gamer it makes a difference and that too in very high end games and if u own a graphic card 1gb it is more than enough.
and windows xp does not support more than 4 gb ram.
