AMD 760G Chipset: video integrated low cost

AMD has announced the availability of a new platform chipset for Athlon series of processors and Phenom, for the segment-end entry-level market and has integrated onboard video subsystem. Talk about the AMD 760G model, which would complement a range of IGP solutions which also includes models AMD 780G and AMD 780V.

The integrated video subsystem is proposed as a solution suitable for most uses, both the personal entertainment. The integrated video chip, the ATI Radeon 3000 series, is overflowing with the processing power to traditional applications, and can accelerate the playback of video streams only those at standard definition. The architecture is compatible with the API of Microsoft DirectX 10, but obviously this is not a solution specifically targeted at gamers.

Among the techniques to highlight the support ATI Hybrid CrossFireX technology: thanks to the presence of an onboard PCI Express 16x slot can support the video chip integrated chipset in a discrete video card, the series ATI Radeon HD 3450 or ATI Radeon HD 2400, so that the two GPUs work in parallel in the development of 3D scenes video. The integrated video chip can also handle all non-3D video applications themselves, so that the dedicated video card is not used to the benefit of limiting consumption.

The technical basis of the 3 chipsets are similar, but only the AMD 780G model has been developed specifically for use in the reproduction of streams high-definition video via HD AVIVO. Nothing is known about consumption. If you already consumed 780G platform this should be a little more sparing.

If you like it on to my friend is recognized only one video device? (dedicated)
I recalled that it was possible to activate both devices to achieve superior performance ...
760G This seems like a very good proposal for any Netbook but not for notebook or media center.

The 780g should include an integrated Radeon 3200, if your friend uses xp second VGA should not be seen as the CrossFireX is supported only on sight, or maybe the IGP is disabled by Bios.

What will be the price difference, in your opinion, compared to 780g? if it is minimal, however, take the 780, now can be found at affordable prices ...
