Needed motherboard and ram on 775 chipset

I was talking to a friend yesterday who was the fan of AMD and I am not an expert in intellectual. He said that AMD does nothing interesting from a couple of years and therefore I do not hesitate to pass the competition

I promptly went on a E8400 (2x 3GHz) or Q9300 (4x 2.5GHz) (it depends on the budget but I think the quad is better)

I wanted to know what to put as motherboard. Also I wanted to know what are the chipset, what ram runs in 775 chipset and therefore what is needed

You should see with your friend whether the applications used are optimized for the quad to see the processor.

For the motherboard or ram, you need to know what you need? Need a firewire port?

Think of a 64 bit OS for the operation of 4 GB.

For HDD, I prefer 640 to 320GB, for performance reasons.

I will be using photoshop on it and no overclocking. Firewire is not a priority. Vista 64 bit surely. I did not knew that 640GB HDD was faster than the 320GB, it's good to know.

P45 + Pc 6400 will be perfect.

In other words, a P45 chipset will be very good along with 4850 or above graphics card from ATI.

If it is Photoshop CS3, it is multi-threaded, so take a Q9300 instead of E8400.
If the budget does not allow it, remain on the E8400. Since you would not overclock avoid Q6600 for photoshop, it is not the most efficient software. I do not know against by reason.

Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB (2 x 2 GB) DDR2-SDRAM PC6400 CL4 - TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX
and it surely will be the Q9300
(and probably 480Watts)
