Intel will lower new quads core tariffs

As announce earlier http://forums.techarena.in/web-news-trends/1094655.htm, on 18 January, in addition to the announcement of new models, Intel will lower the price of several of its current processors so as not to facilitate the expansion of AMD Phenom II which has just been launched.

Thus, among other cuts, it is noted that the Core 2 Quad Q9550 and Q9400, which are the main rivals of the Phenom X4 II 920 and 940 respectively spend $ 317 and $ 268 to $ 268 and $ 219 per 1,000 units.

To recall, the two new babies AMD were announced at $ 278 and $ 238. This announcement should not rob the smelter which had put forward the performance / price of its processors to convince users.

The upper and lower models will not be forgotten because:

    • The Q9650 will moved from $ 525 to $ 317
    • The Q8300 will moved $ 219 to $ 187
    • The Q8200 will moved from $ 199 to $ 167

According to our information, these rates are not yet implemented, and we should see these new processors fall soon.

The 9650 to 317 $ While it does not i920 but since the overall price of the config where you can easily save about 400 €, it's worth it! And not just!

I just re-config with prices discounted.

    9650 + P5Q 4 GB sticks 2 (8500) = € 504.47
    i920 + P6T 3 to go 3 sticks (10,600) = € 636.56

    Difference of 132 € .

Have you been able to obtain more information about the revisions of i7 which was announced in early 2009 with a reduction in the TDP for the 3 models?

Suppliers, Wholesale. And if you look good, you have "quirks" between official prices and those charged, even after having put taxes (since prices are exclusive of taxes). So there are some prices informal see Q9400 sold 200 € TTC in France, shown off at $ 268 fee after the price of Intel.

At one point they had the same delirious with Core2 and Xeon in socket 775, the TDP of some Xeon was lower than the Core2 model, a part that, no different on the CPU architecture. I was also surprised on the spot.

I think it's just that Intel "formalize" the very low dissipation of its Quad 45nm compared to 65nm Quad. We know very well that there is a 45nm Quad TDP less than 95W.
