Processor fan wont stop after shutdown on Windows Vista Business 64 bit

Hello,
My problem is this:
When I stop the computer, the shutdown screen appears, my screen turns off after my DD goes out (no more scratches and led extinguished ...) but my CPU remains running (with fan running). When I restarted my PC it does not show that the CPU is effected or creates any problem (screen where there is marked safe mode, boot normal windows ...)
I have already cleaned the registry, reset the BIOS, I watched the power options are correct (the stop button is on stop).

So I do not see at all where it can come so if you can help it would be cool.
Thank you.

Re: Processor fan wont stop after shutdown on Windows Vista Business 64 bit

The fan won't stop but the motherboard should be running it at low speed if the processor temperature is below the preset threshold. My ASrock 775Dual-VSTA / Pentium D 820 is quiet when the processor isn't busy - browsing, playing a CD/DVD - but the cpu fan roars up to full speed when both processor cores are working hard. The next step for me will be to replace the standard Intel cpu cooler with something bigger that has a 120mm fan. (I've already got a large case lined with sound absorbing foam, quiet power supply and 120mm intake/exhaust fans.)

It's actually normal for your processor fan to run all the time. It's not like the fan in your car, where it only runs when it's hot. Your processor is constantly working, which means it's always hot. Your processor would heat up and go into meltdown fairly quickly if the fan stopped.

What is your Computer Specifications?

I will try those methods suggested. Thank you
