Which is the better PC2100 OR PC2700?

I am using the Asus Pentium 4 2.26GHz 533MHz, 256MB Radeon HD graphic card, 256GB HDD and Windows XP. And also FSB speed is 135Mhz, i am thinking if i put PC2700 RAM in and if this particular computer would it run at 166MHz FSB, also thinking of PC2100. Now i am confused between both of them. Please help me out which one to buy?

As per my knowledge the PC 2700 is better. But would like to know that if your FSB speed is 135Mhz, and if it is then that is the fastest your RAM can be running at. And check weather the FSB is adjustable at all? Being Asus, I have doubt that it would be, but there can be a jumper settings to change the FSB. Also would like say that tell me the exact model of your computer, so i help you further. Hope your problem will get solve.

According to me, the PC2700 is compatible for you. But would say that the thing is when you use a higher speed of memory when you have been already running a lower speed of memory all of the memory will run at the lowest memory speed. So, would suggest you to use only same RAM speed memory. Hope you will be able to choose the correct RAM and run your computer at maximum speed.

My suggestion would be to for PC2100, but mainly or exact choice i would tell, but it completely depends on your motherboard and CPU, as i told PC2100 may be enough or can be that PC2700 may be more desirable.
My statistics of the both RAM is as follows:
PC2100 RAM: 2.13 GB/sec Bandwidth with 266MHz
PC2700 RAM: 2.67 GB/sec Bandwidth with333MHz
In all i would tell you to buy PC2100 only, it also has excellent and best performance.

According to me, it looks like the maximum memory speed for you machine/computer would that of PC2100. Ans try to remove the PC2100 and install PC2700 it would also be running fine but with compare to PC2100 speed no difference. I would recommend to be with PC 2100, it will save some money for you. The PC2100 has less latency and will most likely be faster by .5 to 1.5 ns. (ns = Nanoseconds). Hope your problem will be fix.

I think that by considering the performance, the PC2700 would be a much better and best deal. And if you need a more of memory, then also it is good to have huge amounts of slower memory than speedy memory that's not enough. Also would like tell you that if you do more of video editing, photoshop work or using 3d applications then use PC2100, otherwise go with the PC2700. Hope your problem will be fixed soon.
