hello small problem, issue on the ram

I have a laptop Asus Pro 31, i have 2 GB ram and im going to boost it with 4 gb but the problem is that my pc can take only 3 GB

Is this normal?or what should be done?

XP 32-Bit manages 3 gb and no more.

Because some software can use the 4 GB of RAM even though the operating system knows that manage 3 GB

If Youy Pc Support Max 3gb Ram Then It Wont Take More Than That.
Otherwise Than You Have To Upgrade It.
