After spending a hundred hours to browse the net, I really need your lanterns!
In late 2003, I assembled my first PC: Athlon XP 2008 + Barton / Asus A7N8X-E / Radeon 9600XT / 512 RAM. But after 5 years, my config becomes obsolete ...
Since 2003, I saved, and I can now afford a nice config. I note that in 5 years, components have changed so unbelievable!
I explained that I work from home and I'm on the computer 15 hours a day. I retouch photos to Photoshop, I WorldCast to send newsletters to my clients, I do video editing with Virtualdub, I scan slides, I often converted audio files and / or video, and everything with Outlook, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player to open at all times. In short, I am constantly doing multi-tasking, and I absolutely fed it train!
I am running Windows XP and I'll stay with XP for my new config.
I want my new configuration is super fast and stable, I can do lots of things at the same time as Windows opens immediately when I turn on the computer, open the files immediately when I click on an icon , That file is converted to a format. Avi en. Mpeg without slowing down my other work and that everything is quiet ... Level games, I will mainly play in GTA-likes.
No overclocking, components and minimalist: a simple Ethernet port for my Freebox, a single graphics card (so no Crossfire or SLI), a single hard disk, a 5.1 for my speakers and some USB ports. The important thing is that this pulse when I will do my multi-tasking!
For all these reasons, I chose to build my new config around an Intel Q9550.
But what motherboard to choose? A Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4? This CM is it better than Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R? Apparently, cooling is more efficient, but is it the only advantage? What do the Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P and Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS5?
I read everywhere that Asus were more volatile than Gigabyte. Otherwise, I might have chosen a Asus P5Q Deluxe, whatever, I do not know if this card, for me, has more interest than Asus P5Q Pro or Asus P5Q-E. I will never ExpressGate, and the fact that the card has taken over USB and PCI I do not know what does not have a great interest.
And after that, I will choose RAM, two bars DDR2 PC8500 1GB that I will dual. But I hesitate between the following:
Crucial PC8500 BallistiX 2048MB DDR2 (2x1024Mo)
G. Skill PC8500 2048MB DDR2 HZ (2x1024Mo)
Corsair PC8500 2048MB Dominator CL5 (2x1024Mo)
OCZ PC8500 2GB DDR2 Dual Reaper HPC (2x1GB)
I also saw that there's PC9200:
OCZ PC9200 2048MB DDR2 Dual Flex XLC (2x1024Mo)
One last question from beginner. My processor will be 1333 Mhz. The CM mentioned in my post will also be 1333 Mhz? RAM, only in 1066 Mhz, does not she will clamp the 1333 Mhz processor? Maybe it has nothing to do?
Many thanks to those who had the patience to read me, but your opinion is crucial given that I will spend the next 5 years, 7 days a 7 on my new config
