Differences in the Quad and Extreme

What's the difference between a quad and an extreme cpu, the second one being pricey?

It is quite easy: Core 2 Quad has locked multiplier and Core 2 Extreme has unlocked multiplier. Or to put it another way, Extreme CPU over better than the more earth's quad-core. Extreme CPUs are intended for the most extreme over.

QX9650 and Q9650 is the same CPU with the difference that has locked multiplier Q9650 and QX9650 has unlocked multiplier, also price difference. Age has the same specifications: the same 3 GHz per core, 12 MB Cash...etc.
