Want to upgarde my CPU

Hi, I want to upgrade my Pentium4, 3ghz cpu . I have a 478socket, 200mhz fsb. I want more speed so will it be good if i get a dual core?

Well you WILL see a speed increase, but the dual-core difference on software that isn't written for SMP... is like 5%. Not enough to justify the purchase, for sure.

Dual core basicly I think is for gamers and hardcore multi applications and from what I heard helps on cpu resources when useing dual core while burning. I havn't confirmed this but through the dozen or so google search this has been the basics for having dual core from my google search.

I think there is nothing wrong with this Processor i had a 3Ghz prescott they have HT technology which is almost like a dual core processing; as long as you keep it running cool it's a great CPU. I think your video card would be the most important upgrade Geforce 7800 GS AGP card is anice card.
