Vista computer freezes after RAM upgrade

I recently upgraded my RAM because my system was hanging a lot and was showing 100% RAM usage. Brought a new 2GB stick. I thought it will solve my problem and started my PC but Vista starts now freezing. I tried a couple of things such as clearing the CMOS, checked my psu and removed and reinstall the ram stick, video card etc but nothing happened. What should I do know?

Try using only one stick of ram and see if its working. You probably be using 32 bit OS and might be using more than 4GB of RAM. I am assuming this because you didn't mentioned how much ram are you using.

Have done any type of overclocking ever to any parts? Also check your cables inside the case as well as with monitor.

Thanks for your reply but I am using only 3GB (1 X 2GB and 1 X 1GB) of RAM. And I have never done any overclocking to any parts. And I am using Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit. I had checked the cables before posting over here and is perfectly OK. Any other ideas.

I think you need to increase the voltages a bit to get it worked. It has been seen some times (especially my friend's case) that some mobo's require your ram voltage to be increased by just a small fraction to run correctly.
