    Intel or nVidia Chipset?

    Hello everyone,

The hardware of my current computer looks like this:
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-E + Socket 939 chipset nvidia nForce4 Ultra
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 +
    Memory: 2048MB (2x 512MB Kingston 512MB Shikatronics + 2x)
Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS 256MB cache

I plan to buy another computer that will be my personal computer, while I will use the current server. My future platform will be on Intel (Core 2 Duo / Extreme / Quad).

I am looking for a motherboard ASUS. Is it also possible that I retain the current config temporarily on the new config? I hesitate always to choose between Intel chipset and Nvidia. According to you, which will be more efficient in terms of my processor and my graphics card? I do not want to overclock and I do not play in games very much. If you have an opinion on the chipset, the motherboard, the CPU and graphics card, please tell me.

    Thank you

Do you want sli or not. If not, then take high-end nVidia chipset: X38 and X48

No, I do not anticipate making SLI or CrossFire. Thanks

In addition, the X38 and X48 chipsets are Intel and not Nvidia.
