Is Pentium D better with Windows XP 64bits?

    Hello,

I have a 2.8GHz Pentium D and 1GB Ram 533Mhz to that by what I see supports 64bits. I have Windows XP currently normal and was thinking put the XP 64bits, but I have some doubts.

    Will Consume more resources?
Would I be better off if you get the XP 64-bit?
Do programmes worth Xp normal for the 64-bit or is the subject with hearing that if some, others do not?

    Thank you very much

The big problem of the 64-bit, are programs, drivers and games to be specific to XP 64-bit, you will not serve those in 32bit.

The operation is very powerful and better systems and for very specific applications. The performance you get with this system is not going to be better than the 32-bit version.

Any 64-bit OS consumes twice as much memory that a 32-bit to employ twice as many memory registers, ie Vista or XP64 work with 4GB RAM as a Vista or XP32 with 2GB of RAM ... But if we add to that that memory consumption of Vista is disproportionately high, at the end you will have the equivalent of a XP32 bit with 1GB of RAM and, before that situation, I'm staying with WinXP 32-bit and 3GB of RAM. Unless a program is for native 64-bit, use a 64-bit OS is wasting time as it runs in emulation mode 32-bit and that makes it impossible for emulation give everything they can program.
