    Resolution On Monitor Not Available

    Hey guys.

I recently got a new computer for Christmas and as a result got to go through the horrible process of setting it up to work as it should. Things were going fine until I loaded it up and realized that the native resolution on my Westinghouse LCM-22w2 widescreen monitor (1680x1050) wasn't available. I updated all of my drivers and it still was only offering 1440x900 and 1600x1200. Frustrated I deleted my drivers and reinstalled, restarted, and did everything I could to fix it. Eventually I gave up and restarted my computer for the last time and somehow it came back on working fine.

That was about 3 1/2 weeks ago.

Today, when I rebooted my computer after school, it's back to 1440x900 and I can't bump it up to 1680x1050. I know it's not the video card -- my brother has the exact same computer as mine down to the video card and case and his works perfect. I have reinstalled the Microsoft PnP monitor drivers, reinstalled my video card drivers, rebooted without the monitor plugged in and hoped for a reinstall, etcetcetc.

What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix this?

    Here are my system specs..

    Windows Vista
    2046 MB RAM
    AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800
2x ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO
    Westinghouse LCM 22w2 Monitor

If you need any other info please let me know..

The thing that when you move to the left, the resolution gets smaller, to the right it gets bigger, do you move it all the way to the right? Often times, the monitor's native resolution will be automatically put all the way to the right (or at the end of a list). This stumped me for a good hour.

The slider is 1600x1200, followed by 1440x900, and then it gets progressively worse as it goes left.

Uninstall the Microsoft drivers and reboot. Let windows redect and choose the driver that most closely matches your monitor.
