Upgrade to XFX GeForce 7900GT Video Card

I needed to upgrade the my previous HP Pavilion a6030n. At present, I am having the NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Graphics along with the TurboCache. I am thinking to upgrade that to a used XFX GeForce 7900GT video card that is having the 256MB DDR3 memory. I am posting this over here to ask you that if I will get some improvement with the 7900GT as compared to the stock 6150SE? Please post your suggestions over here. I will do the upgrade after getting suggestions from you people. So please reply fast.

I think that it will give you will get better experience as compared to the 6150. In my case, I have used eventually SLI'ed 2xGS7900 for many months even people were saying that this is slow but I found that this is giving me 80+ frames. So don’t just listen to the other people that what they are saying. If you want that then simply go for that and it will surely not disappoint you. At lease you will get better experience as compared to your existing one.

Before moving to that, you must en sure that the power supplier that you are using is able to hold the change to the 7900. I would like to tell you that you must have @450w earlier than trying the upgrade. I would go forward and gamble through a 300w to be truthful, but you might desire to get more counsel on that. So before moving to that just go through the review of that and then only go for the upgrade. This will ensure you that if you should upgrade or not.

I don’t think that the 6150 is the game card. This only made in the way by which it can hold multiple monitors otherwise the high-resolution monitors. It is just able to play some of the older games. The 7900GS was otherwise games card that push low-end Nvidia land that last the revolution of 6800. There is a much larger spectrum of information and updates flanked by painfully slow and merely very slow.

If all goes fine and straightforward and your power supply aren’t too much of annoy, this must be the finest that you could place into your older computer. Don’t waste over $25 for it though within that range you might acquire something newer if you observe the market. An old 8800GTS otherwise GTX would be a shout within that box - but you would absolutely require a power supply upgrade and probably cooling/case mods. It’s a lot quicker as compared to the a 6150SE IGP.
