Dude, you could have just asked us to do the needful. I am sure someone or the other would have helped you out by mailing you the card. And we have also been discussing the availability of 6600 GT AGP in this thread...and the XFX card is coming on Friday, this week. And Gainward card is schedule to be available Feb 1st Week.

Also, we directly communicate with the distributors. So we have pukka news on availability and the best price. Forums zindabad!

Some bit of a news on Gainward cards.

Mediatech seems ready to set the cat amongst the piegons by pricing it's AGP cards less than XFX. Kudos to them.

I can't assure you the price as this is an insider info. No point calling them up before the cards arrive. That would, as said earlier, be in the 1st week of FEB

    Hey,

Seems like distributors care a damn about their consumers. When I called up Mediatech on 18th Feb, they told me cards would be ordered post-budget and hence would be available in March.

Instinctively I wanted to argue that post-budget implies April and not March. However, I really gave up!

I also checked with Maxtone (MSI), Priya (MSI), Rashi (Asus) and DLink India (Gigabyte). None of them have stocked the 6600 GT

With shattered 6600 GT dreams, I am eagerly looking forward to ATI Rivalto Bridge which would enable ATI to ship their x800 model for about 300$ with an AGP interface Hopefully, by then the new duty/VAT issues would also be sorted out and our shrewed distributors will learn to stock the cards

Its best to be friends with the best dealer in ur town and ask him to do all the dirty work.. er, checking up with all the distis.. normally, distis respond better to the dealers than to an end customer.. plus u'll save up on ur time and money on ur calls
