no bios screen after installing HD 7950

Hello, I have just purchased a new Sapphire HD 7950 graphics card and after installing it on the motherboard when I try to boot the pc, then I am not getting any BIOS screen or anything. The screen just remains completely black. After the Windows boot to desktop then only I am getting the display and everything works fine? Does anyone know about this weird behaviour?

Did you check whether all the cables to the motherboard are connected fine? You can also try to troubleshoot this issue with another cable and see if that works. What method are you using for connecting to the monitor? Are you using multiple monitors? Just try to set your BIOS to start to the PCI-E first. Also make sure that the onboard graphics on your motherboard is disabled. You will also need to tell us the rest of the computer specifications that you have.

Even I am facing the same problem with this same HD 7950 video card. This card is plugged by HDMI to a Television set. I have tested connecting the HD 7950 to a monitor via a dvi to vga and BIOS is appearing in this setup but not with the HDMI port. The problem looks to be that the hdmi port gets activated once the Windows drivers are loaded.

I am also having similar kind of problem with my HD 6870 card. Whenever I start my computer, lets say, after 12 hours or so, I have noticed that the CRT monitor that I am using blinks at a faster rate than normal for around 10-15 minutes and then boots directly to the Windows Login Screen. After this start if I restart my computer then it boots normally, displaying the BIOS first followed by the Windows Loading and all. I assume this problem is happening due to my CRT monitor that I have to replace.
