HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1204 video card upgrade

I am using the HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1204 for quite sometime and I am not able to find any video card for upgrading this desktop pc. I have checked that it needs a PCI Express x16 card with low profile. But since I got a nvidia geforce 600 series graphics card as gift, I am trying to connect it on the board but it will not fit. Can anyone tell me how do I use the same graphics card on this desktop computer? Thank you

What is the model of the graphic card that you have? Anyways, you can try to switch the longer metal bracket, where the video out ports are situated, for the smaller low profile bracket that might have come with the package and then just unscrew it. If that is not the case, then ensure to get graphics card that comes with low profile mounting brackets.

You can try to measure with a tape and compare the dimensions with the same graphics card that you have to find out if the card can fit in the your system or not. Most of the graphics card now a days come with the most standard display ports for video graphics. Incase the back side of the PCIe expansion ports are nor big enough to support these ports, then your system is built to be used with onboard graphics only.

Re: HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1204 video card upgrade

After checking the technical specifications of HP Pavilion Slimline s5-1204, it seems to come with 220W PSU and most of the PCIe graphics card require a minimum 300W power supply. So, unless you upgrade the power supply, I dont think you will be able to use the graphics card that you have. Also, if you got a low profile card then it should have a standard bracket installed which is used with computes that need them.
