What is difference between nVidia GeForce GTX 650Ti and GTX 650Ti BOOST

I was about to buy a new Graphic card for my gaming system as my earlier card fried up last week due to overheating I guess. While searching for the new card I came across a news saying nVidia has launched a new one named “GeForce GTX 650Ti BOOST”. As far as I know they launched a card with same name last year but they have added “BOOST” ahead of GTX 650Ti. People also saying that this is affordable graphic card.

One of my friend is already using its earlier version that is GTX 650Ti and I’m aware of its performance, its good. Can anyone please tell me what is the difference if we compare this card with the new “BOOST” variant? Also will it be a good choice to buy for games like Bioshock 3, Crysis 3, Resident Evil 6, etc? Please provide your suggestions. Thank you.

There is huge difference in both the cards. Compared to earlier GTX 650Ti, the BOOST variant offers you upto 40% better performance and yes, it is said as affordable because at just Rs. 10,499/- for 1GB variant and if you go for 2GB than it will cost you Rs. 11,999/- which is yet cheaper than other graphic cards offering the same performance.

The actual differences between these cards are as follows: You get 980MHz base clock in GTX 650Ti BOOST while GTX 650Ti offers only 928MHz. Also the Boost variant offers you 1033MHz of Boost Clock which was missing completely in the earlier version. So, this makes GTX 650Ti BOOST better than the GTX 650Ti.

That’s not all buddy, BOOST has something more to offer compared to GTX 650Ti such as Its memory configuration is upto 2GB / 192bit compared to 1GB / 128bit if GTX 650Ti, it provides Memory speed of 6Gbps compared to 5.4Gbpz of earlier version. And most importantly the BOOST provides 2-Way SLI which was not available in GTX 650Ti edition.

I think nVidia launched this GTX 650 Ti Boost in competition of AMD’s Radeon HD 7950 Boost graphic card which was launched last year in August. However if we see them as per their prices, AMD launched the BOOSt edition at the price of Rs 24000/- while Nvidia launched the card with better performance at the price Rs 12000/-. As far as its comparison with GTX 650 Ti is concerned, I must say that GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost is an extremely different beast. So if you are looking for a new card for all latest video games, this is the better choice.
