Not able to download 310.70 beta drivers for GTX 650Ti

I am planning to Install Assassin's Creed III in my system running windows 8 but before that my friends said that it is recommended to update to the latest drivers. So now when I am trying to install 310.70 beta drivers for my GTX 650Ti then I get an error message saying “"Graphic Drivers" failed to install” and the installation gets terminated. I have tried installing the driver many times but I am getting same response from it, what might be wrong?? What can I do to fix it???

Did you uninstall your current version of driver before installing 310.70 beta drivers?? If not, then follow below steps:
Uninstall current drivers using uninstaller like driver sweeper or revo uninstaller
Restart your system
Install 310.70 beta drivers manually
Once it gets installed restart your system and you are done.

Yes I had uninstalled my old driver before installing 310.70 beta drivers. By now I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 310.70 beta drivers 6 times but no luck. I get the same error message again and again after which the installation procedure gets terminated. Is there anything else that I can try out further to install the latest beta driver without any such issue???

Rather than installing 310.70 beta drivers I will suggest you to install GeForce 306.97 Driver. You should be able to play Assassin's Creed III with it without any issues. I have come across people who were running in to graphical issues like freezing, crashing and lagging after installing beta drivers, the only solution that helped them was installing 306.97 WHQL Driver.

Yes there is something wrong with 310.70 beta drivers. I had installed it before playing Assassin's Creed III. I did not had any issue in installing the driver but after installing 310.70 beta drivers when I used to launch the game, I was welcomed with an error message saying “Assassin’s Creed III.exe Has Stopped Responding”
I was able to fix my issue by following this guide.

Just check out last paragraph of 5th post in the guide. It clearly states the problem with NVidia and beta drivers.

I don’t think there might be something wrong with the 310.70 beta drivers, instead there is something wrong in your system.
310.70 beta drivers highlight says:
These drivers also include the previously released optimizations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Assassin's Creed III, providing up to 26% faster performance in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and up to 18% faster performance in Assassin’s Creed III, as well as smooth, shimmer-free graphics with TXAA anti liaising in both games.

As far as I am aware Nvidia guys test these drivers before they release it. I want to know if this issue is specific to windows 8.

It was for windows 8 64 bit in my case. I don’t have idea about windows 7 and vista users. I guess it’s specific to windows 8, windows 8 is really not doing well as far as gaming is concerned. I want to share that even though Assassin's Creed III is said to be compatible with windows 8 many people are forced to play it in compatibility mode. They say Assassin's Creed III just don’t even get launched in windows 8 normal mode. Anyways I am glad that I don’t have any issue in running the game in normal mode.

It seems as if there is really something wrong with my system. I have tried installing latest WHQL drivers (306.97) and guess what? I am getting the same error again. What should I do now???

Try this:

• Restart your system in safe mode
• Run driver sweeper or revo uninstaller and uninstall your current driver
• Restart your system in normal mode
• Install WHQL drivers (306.97) and make sure that you are restarting your system after the installation.

Uninstalling WHQL drivers (306.97) in safemode and reinstalling it in normal mode worked for me. I never had any issue in installing and uninstalling drivers in normal mode. Don’t know why it was not working for WHQL drivers (306.97).
