Best video card for 3d gaming

I am planning to build up a new gaming rig for playing games in 3D on max settings. I have bought a ViewSonic VT2430 24-Inch monitor where I can run games on 1080p and have decided other components as well. However I am not able to decide a video card for it, can anyone suggest me some good video card for 3d gaming so that I narrow down my option and get the best form the list????

What is your budget, there are some good ones catching my eye but let me know your budget so that I can suggest you accordingly. Until you can check these ones:
    EVGA GTX 460 1GB - £139
    MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti - £176
    Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 - £181
    Zotac GeForce GTX 570 - £260
    HIS Radeon HD 6970 - £265
They are the best video card for 3d gaming in their range.

I can spend 30k for the card and max to max 35 k. I just want to build up a good gaming rig so that I don’t have to invest in it in near future. It should be one that can handle the latest up coming and announced games for 2 years at least. I know the system requirements of upcoming games are rising very first but I will somehow manage it.

Within that budget you really have far better option, just check them out:
    Zotac GeForce GTX 580 - £385
    Asus Radeon HD 6990 - £501
If you don’t mind spending 35 k than Radeon HD 6990 will surely be a better deal and there won’t be a need for investing in video card for at least 3 years as far as I am aware.

I will suggest you to get “eVGA GeForce GTX 680 2GB” it will cost you around 16 k and It can run a 2560x1600 resolution display at ultra high detail levels for almost all the latest games in the list by now. It just needs two 6-pin PCI-Express power supply and 550W power supply. There is no need to get 650W power supply or 750W power supply for it.
In case you don’t like eVGA GeForce GTX 680 2GB than you can check out “XFX Double D Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB’ as well. One of my friends has recently bought it for $450. I have played games like prototype on 2560x1600 resolution display at ultra high detail and had great experience.
