Want to upgrade from 5870, please recommend

Guys which video card will be the best option over ATI Radeon HD 5870? I have been using HD 5870 from quite a long time and now I am willing to upgrade the same to one of the latest. I am not willing to run another HD 5870 in sli, so just suggest me some other powerful single video card that can give me better performance than 5870.

I think you should go for AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, once you update to the same I don’t think there will be any need of updating to newer card for at least 2 years. Radeon HD 7970 will a better choice than the ones mentioned here. You will be able to play all the latest games with it, one of my friend is having the same and the card just works great. I have played several games on his machine without a single issue for hours.

I have been using “AMD Radeon HD 6990” and I will suggest you to get the same. I don’t know much about other cards performances but I really find the performance of HD 6990 to be satisfying and worth. I have been using it from a couple of months and I have hardly faced any issues with it. I am not a gamer but I do try out the latest games that come out and I haven’t come across any issue yet. It’s quite a good card at a decent price. Just go thought its features and specifications once from its official site to get a better idea of it and compare it with other options as well.

I just wanted to know why are you not willing to run another HD 5870 in sli, I mean that can really be a better option. You can surely get better performance as compared to what you might be getting now. Another HD 5870 will cost you around $400 and can overcome the single gpus mentioned here. If it is just about getting a new single gpu then AMD Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition will be the best option according to me as well but it will be worth considering 2 x HD 5870 in sli, do think about it.
