Upgrading from HD 5850, which radeon card

Sponsored Links
I am willing to upgrade from HD 5850 to some other radeon card, I have gone through some options but I am not able to make out the best one for me. I want to upgrade to a card after which there won’t be any need for updating it again for 2 to 3 years. So can anyone let me know about the best option in my case??

Re: Upgrading from HD 5850, which radeon card

In that case I will suggest you to go for “Radeon XFX HD 6970 2 GB Graphics Card”, it will cost you around $373 but will be quite worth. I don’t think after updating to it you will think of updating to a better one before 3 years. Radeon XFX HD 6970 is one of the best cards I have come across, just go for it without any doubt, it will give you quite better performance as compared to your HD 5850. You won’t have any regret after getting it.

I will suggest you to go for AMD Radeon HD 7970, it seem to be a better option as compared to HD 6970, you will just have to make sure that you are having a psu enough to handle it. It’s one of the powerful single GPU card and has a more efficient architecture because of its higher clock speed and superior stream processor count.

I really don’t think you will get a better choice than this, to get more idea about it you can check out its specification and features from its official site.

I will suggest you to get any one from the below ones, they are best as per their price and specification.
  • Sapphire HD 6850 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £143.99
  • XFX HD 6870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £143.99
  • ZOTAC GeForce GTX 560 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £155.99
In my case I am having ZOTAC GeForce GTX 560 2048MB and I am really not thinking of updating my card again in close years.

  • Video Memory - GDDR5 2GB
  • Engine Clock - GPU Boost Clock : 1137 MHz , GPU Base Clock : 1058 MHz
  • CUDA Core – 1344
  • Memory Clock - 6008 MHz ( 1502 MHz GDDR5 )
  • Memory Interface - 256-bit
  • Resolution - DVI Max Resolution: 2560x1600
  • Interface - DVI Output: Yes x 1 (DVI-I), Yes x 1 (DVI-D) , HDMI Output : Yes x 1 , Display Port : Yes x 1 (Regular DP)

Re: Upgrading from HD 5850, which radeon card

A better idea will be getting another HD 5850 and run it in sli, it will be the best option until you are not having any issue in running your video cards in sli. If you are having a psu that can handle 2 x HD 5850 then just go for another HD 5850. There is really no need for getting some other single card. Just think about it once, I think that you will get better performance with 2 x HD 5850 compared to the cards mentioned above.
