Should I go for Nvidia 630M or 610M or GT 540M graphics card?

well I used to play video games on my computer. now I am looking to upgrade my graphic cards. Can you tell me which one should be best among Nvidia 610M, GT 540M or 630M? I wanted to know what are the difference between these three cards? So post the useful information on priority basis so that I can make my decision regarding selecting the card. The Nvidia introduced new family of Geforce 600M graphic cards. Well Geforce 610m is same as that of GT 520MX. This particular GPU is having CUDA core 48. It is running in frequency of 900 MHz, 64-bit interface. It supports HDMI 1.4, blu ray format in the resolution of 1080P. the GeForce GT 630M is same as that of GT 540M. it is having 96 CUDA cores and having clock speed of 672Mhz to 900Mhz. also supports 128 bit memory bus.

Geforce GT 635M are available in the couple of versions and they are based on 96 CUDA cores and frequency ranging from 675mhz to 1800mhz. second version is having 144 CUDA cores and frequency ranging from 753Mhz to 3140Mhz. for your information said GPU is based on GT 555m.

The basic difference between both the versions are 128 bit and DDR3 memory, where as second version is 192-bit GDDr5 memory. You will see huge difference into performance in both GPUS.

As far as my experience is saying GT540M seems to be better option if you are looking to play game like WoW. It allows to access VRAM in double speed as compared to GT610M. I don’t think so there is any requirement to have such a huge VRAM. Second difference between GT 540M and GT 610M that is GT 610M is having 64bit bus whereas GT 540M is having 128bit memory bus.

Personally GT 540M should be great option for you as it is having USB 3.0 support. It will allow you to access your external hard drive at higher data speed. Also there are people who are saying the same thing that one should go for GT540M.

I do agree with the thing which you have stated over here. you will not be able do graphic intensive stuffs or games that are highly reliable on graphics by using GT610M. GT540m is having better performance as compared to graphic card that I discussed above. GT540 can handle most of application and video games. I have found that lowend GPU which is redesigned with new architecture will going to work same as previous version of GPU. However you will see increment into FPS. They are doing something like renaming the same product to end users.

Geforce GT 540M was developed on GF108 architecture. The performance of this particular graphic card is laying between Radeon HD 5650 and Radeon 5730. If you are having high performance CPU with card then , performance would be outstanding with video games. it supports for purevideo HD which you can use for decoding of video files. It supposed to consume power same as that of Geforce GT 435M. if there is no load then it would work at 137 MHz. switching possible between integrated graphics card form Intel and Nvidia since it does support for Optimus. However it is dependent on the laptop that you are using.

Geforce 610M to be considered as basic graphic card. performance of it is ranging between Geforce GT 50M and GT 520X. so according to me game that demands higher end graphic card should work fine. Many of the features of 610M are same as that of GT540M.

FYI, card model is much important than that of onboard memory. The higher number of geforce card does not implies that it should be better one. You should find out which number is higher. I mean very first number in model number is indicating series of the card where as number next to first indicates performance level. In simple terms 7 series card should be latest one as comared to 6 series card. also you should think about the type of application that you wanted to use on graphic card. it will allow you think about the size of the card.
