AMD Radeon HD 7950 or nVidia GeForce GTX 580

I'm buying a new computer for gaming (and programming) purposes and i was wondering which graphics card would be better; the nVidia GeForce GTX 580 or the AMD Radeon HD 7950? My display is the ASUS 23" VH238T but i might buy a higher resolution one in the future. Here's the rest of the specifications of the computer:

    Some random AMD990x-based motherboard
Intel Core i7 2600K processor (probably)
    16GB DDR3
    2x 60GB SATA III (6Gb/s) RAID0 configuration
    1TB SATA II hard drive
    24x DVD SuperMulti
650W power source (can be expanded if needed, what do u think?)
Antec Kühler 620 water cooling system
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64b

    Sorry for my bad english.

The best between the 2 video cards that you have asked is cleary the AMD Radeon HD 7950. It consumes very low power during idle and full load and also scales really well with crossfire. It also gives less heat output by around 10c. What more it can do is 3 monitor setup with the help of crossfire indeed. Hope that answers your questions.
