Two Club3D Radeon HD 6870 X2 (crossfire) stutters when playing Crysis 2

I have recently bought Crossfire Club3D Radeon HD 6870 X2 and I am using the same with Catalyst 12.1 and I have crossfire it with another 6870 as well and the problem that I am facing with this is that when I am playing Crysis 2 then the game is stuttering and I am getting a very low fps, I am playing the game with the below requirements:
    • DirectX 11
    • High Resolution Texture Pack
    • Ultra Quality settings
    • 4x AA
    • Level - Times Square

Is there anyone else who has faced the same and has an idea about it???

Can you just tell me the average fps that you are getting is??? I mean that with the above settings you should get average of 55 fps??? Have you tried playing different game to check out if it is making any difference or you are having this issue with all the game??? Are you having the latest driver for the same??? Just check out these things and then let me know what you get.

Yes I am aware that with the above settings I should get average of 55 fps but then I don’t know why I am getting average of 27.8 FPS, I have checked out BF3 as well and I am really not able to play the game with textured set to high and medium in FullHD as the fps is dropping. Ijn my case I am having 2x1GB but then I don’t think that should be an issue as I have found some people running the game with hi-res textures 4xaa and with hi-res textures 4xaa high FPS, I just wanted to know that am I missing anything , is there anything I will have to try out???

In that case I will like to inform you that you are having less vram for ultra settings and the other thing I wanted to share is that you are using Catalyst 12.1 which has found to be creating issue for a number of games so better try out same driver but then the one that was released in July 2011, if you want then you can try using newest CAP along with the newest beta driver as well and see if it is making any difference, just check out the same and then let me know what you get.

It seems you are not having a required psu, I mean that as per your specification you are using 450W PSU and I think that it is too low for a 6870x2 as well as an overclocked cpu, I think that you should better atleast get 650watt psu and that would be enough.

Re: Two Club3D Radeon HD 6870 X2 (crossfire) stutters when playing Crysis 2

I have performed some test using catalyst 11.6 as well as 12.1 + latest CAP and below results that I have found:
    • catalyst 11.6 – average 30 fps
    • 12.1 + latest CAP – average 32 fps

There is not much difference between the same, I have gone through different forums as well and some has suggested me to upgrade the ram to 6GB or 8GB but then I am not that sure if I really need them and as far as the psu is concerned I think you are right, I am having issues in playing BF3on high or ultra texture but not when I am playing it with the below settings:
    • 1920x1080
    • textures Medium
    • AF - AA off
    • FXAA injector
    • 64 man karkand

With the above setting I am able to get 60 fps, anyways I have checked out for the psu and am willing to get Chieftec A-80 CTG-600-80P 600W (504w 12v 42A). So will it will be the right choice or I am having some better options??? Any further help for the same will be highly appreciated.
