Is it worth to replace Radeon 7970 with Radeon 2x7950

I have a radeon 7970. The radeon has clock 1200/1600 with stock cooler and the stock voltages. I know that it is running at PCI-E 2.0 16x. I want to replace it with the radeon 2x7950. The radeon 2x7950 is running at the 2x PCI-E 2.0 8x. It is that fact that you will lose round about 15% of performance after changing 7970 to a 7950 but with 2*7950 it will give me 65% faster than 7970. Does the PCI-E 2.0 will run at 8* bottlenecks the 7950 or to be with my 7970 and forget 2*7950. Is the PSU "OCZ ZS Series 750W 80+ Bronze" enough for 2* 7950?

As I know about the PCI bandwidth, the loose are barely noticeable. It wouldn’t care me much. But the AMD requires a minimum 700W for HD7950 in Crossfire. So the branded OCZ 750W power supply will be fine. Related to over clocking you would not have much on headroom.

I would like you before going to 2*7950 have a look for the new 7990 benchmarks. See how is the performance of these before going to 2*7950? I was thinking of buying new AMD 7990 because then I can crank the settings up in eyefinity and plus it will be going to be over clocking my CPU once get the new color.

I would suggest you to go with the ADM Radeon 7970. See I am crossfire user from round about 2 years or more than that. Honestly I just lost all my desire to ever run the PC with two graphic cards. Because of the issue I was shaving at first with these. See go with the biggest single GPU card. It will be nice. It ios the first world’s first 28nm GPU. And have the new architecture.

I would recommend you to go with the ADM Radeon 7970 graphic card. I was having CFX for more than one and half years and I am too tired of it and mainly with the all Rage, the Witcher 2 issues and the BF3 problem. Honestly there is no doughty that the CFX is the best but I got more issues with it. Yes the money matters the price of 7950 starts from $ 449.

I am a crossfire and SLI user from more than 4 years and now gone back to the one of the top card. I am tired of playing the games as every driver is releases with the duals as to AB & ACC settings. There is lot of the games not playing well with the CF or the SLI. The second the figure can handle one monitor at high that to by itself. I have got the Itchy trigger finger on the 7970 but I am hoping for kelper to compare. Just use the ADM Radeon 7970 graphic card.
