Getting Black screen after updating nVIDIA Geeforce GT 240M 1GB driver to 295.73 WHQL

My laptop has nVIDIA Geforce GT 240M 1GB graphic card and I have recently updated the driver to 295.73 WHQL and just after the update I am getting completely black screen,I have listed my system specs below is there anything I can do about the same now as I am not able to loading windows without the black screen, is there any option left for me rather than reinstalling windows????

I have faced the same and it is surely an issue with the 295.73 WHQL driver, I was using 285.62 WHQL and I did not had any issues with the same, if there is any fix for this then please let me know:

I was facing the same issue with my laptop but then now I have rolled back to the previous driver that is 285.62 WHQL from the safe mode, if you want then you all can try out the same till there is a fix for the latest NVIDIA GeForce update (295.73 whql) I have found a no of people having the same issue and many have raised this mess to the nvidia as well but then they have just said that they are looking in to the matter now and will come up with a fix soon.

Hey guys I just wanted to know that anyone of you have tried out the below beta drivers for nVIDIA Geforce GT 240M 1GB, if not then try out the same and then post back the result that you get for it:

I have been facing the same issue, I had just installed nVIDIA Geforce GT 240M 1GB driver version 295.73 whql and after the installation I rebooted the machine as it is recommended and then when I rebooted the machine then there was a black screen but then the windows was sounding to be working properly as I was able to hear the sound of entering the login screen, I don’t know what is the issue all about but then I want to solve it soon, I have not yet found any officials addressing this issue , if anyone finds out a workaround for getting it working with 295.73 whql then please let us know it will be highly appreciated. I doubt if anyone have found success with the driver version 295.73 whql, I have checked out the beta driver that has been mentioned above but then I don’t know why I am getting the same response, currently I am using 285.62 WHQL as it is the only driver that is appearing to be working fine.

I have checked out for the same and they have mentioned that they are not able to replicate the same issue in their case, they have mentioned that the issue is with some certain model of the laptops. Anyways if you all want then you can try out re-installing the 295.73 driver in Safe mode but then just make sure that you are installing only the graphics drivers and not the other component with the same, if I say in technical language then make a Custom (Advanced) installation and see if it is making any difference, other than this also make sure that you are performing a Clean Installation. Just check out the same and then let me know if it is helping.

I don’t think that this issue is just with certain brand, I have found the below brands other than the ones that has been already mentioned above are having the same issue with nVIDIA Geforce GT 240M 1GB driver version 295.73 whql:

• MSI GT780DX
• Packard Bell EasyNote TJ65
• ASUS K43SJ
• Lenovo ideapad y550

But then I have found that this issue is most with the people having acer product, I don’t know why nvidia is taking so much time for coming uo with a fix for the same.
