    Connecting Desktop to HDTV

I'm currently trying to hook up my desktop computer (Acer Aspire) to my Samsung HDTV. My desktop has a VGA port, but I have an adapter that connects it to a DVI port which is what my HDMI cable supports. When I plug everything in, all I get is a "No Signal" message, the source my TV is on is HDMI1/DVI. Is there a way to solve this?

    Thanks for your time.

    Re: Connecting Desktop to HDTV

It is necessary to have a common interface to hook up your HDTV to your desktop. Many time the display does not works because of wrong cable used. I hope that your desktop is not very old. Because the motherboard might lack support for the adapter you are using on vga port.
