want to upgrade from GeForce 8800GT to some other graphic card?

I am currently using GeForce 8800GT graphics card but I want to upgrade it, but I the thing is that I am finding trouble in finding which graphics card is better because I don’t know much about graphics cards. I currently found GeForce GT 120 graphics card but it was not good. So can anyone recommend me any graphic card which can run most recent game that having high setting. Also my budget is about 40 £. So, please guys help me in finding some good graphics cards.

I don’t think that you will get any graphics cards in 40 £ that can run high graphic games, because the latest games having high setting can run only on good graphic cards which can cost minimum up to 60 £. So I think that if you want to run latest graphics you have to increase your budget.

If you want decent graphics card you can go only for gts250 or 9800GT in 40 £, but I would recommend you to choose 9000 series card but you have to increase your budget to buy this graphics card. If you want to save your money then I will suggest you to purchase NVIDIA GeForce GTX 400, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 500 or Kepler series card. But before getting this cards make sure that you PSU is up to the task.

I have checked gts250 and I found that it was of 72£ which is out of my budget, but it lot better that what I have currently, it has PCI-E slot just like I have currently in my mother board. So I am thinking to increase my budget and bet this NVIDIA GeForce gts250 graphics card. But before buying this I want to know that do gts250 run Direct x 11?

No, only 400, 500, 600, and 700 series can handle Direct X 11, so if you want graphic card that can handle Direct X 11 than you can go for 400,450,500 and 500 series of NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics cards.

Gts250 is in branded 9800gtx + G92B 55nmand it is based on older architecture compared to the gts450 (Fermi 40nm) so I would recommend you to take Gts450 than gts250. The best card for right now I can say is gts450 and gts560 in terms of price and performance from NVIDIA and this are the best graphics card to go with. I have currently NVIDIA GeForce gts430 now I am going with NVIDIA GeForce gts560.

NVIDIA GeForce gts450 graphics cards is replace of gts250 and it more technically competitive, this card I based on new graphic chip which codenamde as GF106. It is cheap and powerful enough, this graphics card is full featured member of Fermi which is similar to ATI Radeon HD 5700 series. This GF106 has fully powered by all feature like having high quality performance when it is processing geometrical data and doing tessellation, so even I will also suggest you to get gts450.

This gts450 has 16 active RBEs and 128 bit bus which work great with 64 bit processor, I have this graphics card and it works great with game like BF3, the clarity is just awesome. I am using this graphic card since 8 months and I never had any issue with it.

Yes you can run this in your Gigabyte M78SM-S2H motherboard with AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor, but you must have good power supply unit, that is at least 460 watts of power supply.
