Radeon HD 6990 vs GeForce GTX 580

Hey guys thought to share this are ATI set to win one more performance crown here? The 6990 seem like yet another beast. I familiar with its previous benchmarks, however I’ve read on internet that as it stand at the present, it will probably be the top card once more on both sides. I would really like to know more about and I would be appreciate if you guys comment on this

    Thanks in advance

Re: Radeon HD 6990 vs GeForce GTX 580

I'm very let down with 6990. Power starving, slower than 6970 in CF, loud, and not faster than the GTX580 in SLI. HardOCP has it just a touch quicker to the GTX570 in SLI, in the majority games. If Nvidia is going to make the GTX590 as two GTX570s with a few tweaks, after that I might see the 6990 being a joke of a card yet more than it is at present.

the GTX580 has been release for some time now , and the 6990 launched recently . Both cards are ruler of their price point at present, so if you have $500 and desire a single card get the GTX580 otherwise if you have $700 then don't have the 6990. Use $600+ and get two 6970 cards. It will be quicker and quieter, however will make use of a bit more power.

I'm thinking the GTX 590 will faster, however not quieter or less electricity hungry, than the 6990. This just concern with the Fermi architecture. In order for NVidia to make noise to a "decent" level it might require to lower the clocks on the GF110 evaluate to even the 570. certainly, NVidia doesn't have the fan ramping problem since they have knowledge correct that while they moved from the GF 100 (GTX 480) to the GF110 (GTX 580). Have to wait and see , however either way the GTX 590 is a beast of a GPU and more power than you could practically require.

Perhaps The GTX 5 series is good with the power consumption in compare to the 4 series. The 6990 make use of not as much of power than two 6970s, so there are power savings to be had by utilize just one PCB. If they pick their parts cleverly, I might see them making a 300 or else 300W+ GTX590 that might moreover come close or defeat the 6990.

3 way sli any card is just a waste money as a just a card will do the job just okay. SLI is just for group who are rich as well as sloppy regarding their money plus also for computer techies that are trying to endorse. unnecessary to say, I'm glad with my gtx560; it's playing every the newest games on uppermost settings.

Dual GPU Cards in SLI/Crossfire are good than 2 Single GPU Cards. The 6990 contain the a physical switch on the board which will over-volt and over clock the card back up to 6970 stock GPU clocks plus even then there is yet head-room for yet more overclocking on together Air as well as Liquid. The 590 is so incomplete even on liquid to how far you can take it. in addition why does "ATI =Xbox and nVidia = ps3". This is ridiculous as together systems make use of a custom GPU for just that system and the load it has.

i am know that GTX 580 might succeed however i think the Fps is false cut there are 3 580 GTX gpus plus only playing on maximum 60fps , whereas my single 9600 gets about 30 fps and as we all know the 580 GTX is way much better than 9600GT and there are 4GPU"s on ati while GTX 580 has 3 gpu cores just u should set 4 GTX 580 to test it actual , it might overbeat ATI

Crysis was, from the beginning together a very badly optimized graphics engine plus at the same time very NVIDIA friendly relative to ATi cards. also, i feel like working on this benchmark on 32 bit instead of 64 bit may assist you, but then again i'm assuming CPU perf doesn't matter a great deal here either so perhaps not

ATI power use is actually more competent than nvidia in general, it's one of the selling points of their thing. Its true nvidia has physx also, but i'd rather have a company support opencl plus thing like that. In terms of hardware, the 400 series have a large part of the processor disable due to a rush of receiving the thing on the market, while the 500 series had the full Fermi power. ATi has also had tessellation for as, actually user's loyalty on those two.
