Samsung PS58C7000 TV not recording from TV to USB

One of my friends owns a Samsung PS58C7000 Plasma TV. It is awesome in 3D viewing, for Gaming, picture quality in Blu-Ray. I have Samsung LCD which I thought to change to LED or plasma. Now I am in a little doubt about the Samsung PS58C7000. The reason is my friend complaining about the USB not working. The problem was he was unable to record TV shows from his Samsung PS58C7000 on to his 8GB pen drive. He tried the 4GB and other External Hard drives but couldn’t do so. He also formatted the USB sticks but on recording the content from the TV the TV says “Device not suitable for recording”.
What is the problem over here? Is it related to USB or some settings or any glitch in the TV?

First of all check the Handbook that is provided with the TV and read whether the TV has the feature of recording TV contents on USB drive. May be that feature is unavailable in your friend’s Samsung PS58C7000 TV.

May be the pen drive your friend is using is not sufficient to download the TV content. You can use Hard Disk Drive for recording TV shows. HDD drive will be perfect for recording the TV content as it has In-built TV tuner which catches the TV signal and other input/output devices. Moreover it has the EPG in-built in it. This feature automatically records the selected programs or shows in advance.
Let your friend try this on his Samsung PS58C7000 Plasma TV. May be it will solve the problem.

USB not connecting to your friend’s Samsung PS58C7000 Plasma TV can be the Firmware problem. Call the Samsung care center. They will provide you with the Firmware update. Or you can use the Firmware library for any revised updating of the TV.
