Need to Upgrade from ATI Radeon HD 4870 video card

I am willing to upgrade the video card in my system, currently I am using ATI Radeon HD 4870, I have tried to find out a better one than this and but then I am getting confused with the single and the dual gpu, actually I am having a budget between $250 to $300.I have found some like 6950 and 5770 and I have also checked out the 2x 6870 but then I don’t know that which will be the best for me, is there anyone who can help me out with the same, any suggestions regarding the same will be appreciated.

I don’t know about the 2x 6870 but then I have been using 3x 6870 and they are just working great but here the problem is that if you play a game that is not able to use the crossfire then one of the gpu will get stuck. I will suggest you to get the 6950 and if it is possible for you to wait a bit more than I will suggest you to get the 7000 series, it will be arriving soon. Hope that helps.

Yes I have heard about the 7000 series but then I don’t think that I will wait for the same, I think that there will be more sense if I will go for 2x mid / low cards or 1x mid / mid-high card as now a day’s games are capable of utilizing the dual gpus and it will be worth as well, I have found that I am getting 2x 6770 for $180 where as a 6950 is coming for $250, so what do you think that what should I get?? Any further help for the same will be appreciated.

I think that getting the 6950 will be a better idea and I think that it will be the best replacement for the ATI Radeon HD 4870 that you were having previously, I think that it will work best if you are having a model with 2GB ram I don’t think that you should go for 2x 6770, I mean that the 6950 is in your budget as well.
