Nvidia Driver unable to detect nvidia h/w

I have an Acer 5745 G laptop which has i5 M43 @ 2.27 GHz, 3 GB Ram , and Nvidia Geforce 310M Cuda 512 MB graphics, win 7 ultimate 64-bit, it had the original graphics driver which came with the system version 189.96 (not very sure), i downloaded NFS the Run, the black box repack version and it installed successfully , but when i tried to run it, it came up with an error to update the graphics driver to a version 285.38 which i did from the nvidia website, but the driver is not able to detect the graphics card and fails the installation, i have tried installation in safe mode and even deleted the previous version of the driver but no joy, please help . PFB the link to the driver which i downloaded

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-wi...ta-driver.html

and the exact error msg was ,"the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".

please find the screen shots as well.

i even check the supported products list before downloading the driver and the 310m graphics is listed and even check the device id from the device list of the extracted nvidia files, my graphics card device id is :

    DEV_0A75&SUBSYS_035B1025&REV_A2

Have you made sure that your laptop is using the 3D cards instead of the Nvidia Geforce 310M. After that just restart the laptop and hit F2 or del key multiple times till you get into the bios. There will be a video card settings, so just disable the onboard graphics, that way you boot up with the 3D cards. Try to do the install than, and use the custom setup so you can do a clean install.

Make sure that you used any one of these operating system Microsoft Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Media Center, Vista and Windows 7 and you have to used 3D graphics card
because NVIDIA Graphics driver only compatible with these system.
