Single NVIDIA GeForce 580 vs. two 9800gt cards in SLI

I am searching for some way to determine the difference between the single GTX 580 or GTX 590 card and 2 9800gt cards in SLI mode. I am thinking to buy one of them and before going for that I want to have some information of that. So I request you all whoever get to this thread, to post their suggestions or some information about these cards so that it will be helpful for me to decide the one.

I don’t think that there is even any comparison between these two cards. I am saying this because 9800s is not even close to the 580. Other than this the 580 is the direct x 11 card. If I talk about the 9800s then I can simply say that they are just of old technology. I have recently upgraded to 560ti from the 9800gtx and found that there is huge raise in the performance and so I would also recommend you the NVIDIA GeForce 580 and you will get best performance from that.

nVidia GeForce GTX took the 580 for the fastest single-GPU video card and also the disadvantages of the GTX 480 (too hot, too noisy, ...) to solve. These 500-series in the coming months according to Nvidia also be expanded with cards in different price ranges. All with optimized chips: they promised no more tricks rebranding to apply. The GeForce GTX 580 based on the GF110. Despite what you might expect from the name, they have nothing to do with a whole new generation. The GF110 is actually a revised and optimized GF100. The architecture of the GeForce GTX 580 we can actually be very short: it is 100% identical to the GTX 480. It is a shame to repeat everything again to go.

I am having the NVIDIA GeForce 9800gt and I want to post my experience with the Call of Duty World at war. I woild like to tell you that 9800 GT manages to extract a good performance of this popular (and current) game, achieving a minimum of 26 frames per second, a maximum of 88 and an average of 44, leaving a feeling of fluency that left us quite satisfied and pleasantly surprised . You will not find problems with slowdowns or downtime a similar configuration, as experience in the gameplay is quite comfortable and safe with no major cuts recorded at the time of the game machines. The visuals are spectacular, with sharp, bright and without error in its colors and contrasts, the configuration does not stop at all the gaming experience of this title and gives the sense of spectacle that characterizes it.

First, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 features 512 CUDA cores. The GTX 590 is twice that amount because of their dual GPU architecture. I can simply say that the GTX 590 wins the battle. On the other hand, the GTX 580 has a texture fill rate of 49.4 billion / se as compared to the GTX 590 from 77.7 billion / sec, which is more than half and one side in the GTX 580. With these statistics you can raise the settings of the games and still enjoy frame rates.

Basically, if you're on a tight budget but want an end single GPU, the GTX 580 continues to produce excellent results.

The GTX 580 consumes low power as compared to the GeForce GTX 590. The minimum power required for the GeForce GTX 580 is a unit of 600 watts. This can make a huge gap if you previously have a 600 watt model and would love to avoid the cost of a more energetic power supply. It is also worth noting that the NVIDIA GTX 580 is dual slot card, so make sure you have the space available.

Unlike the GTX 480, the 580 leaves the cooler consists of heat pipes and fan noise. Nvidia innovated this by installing its first Vapor Chamber on it. The operating principle is simple. A wide and thick copper is in contact with the chip. Under this, a coolant is circulated in a closed circuit.

The Radeon HD 5870 is clearly overwhelmed by the GTX 580, designed exclusively for high-end configurations, with particular attention paid to date to be provided by the motherboard. We must now wait for a reply from AMD architecture with Caiman and HD 6900. Anyways, both are good and it is totally depend on what is the other configuration of your system.

Frankly speaking that this is totally depend on the configuration that you are using and you have not mentioned anything about that over here.
