What is the driver that you are using with that. I think that the new beta 285.27 might resolve this problem for you. I hope that you will be out of this issue soon. |

I think that the click speed on both the core and memory spike are spike with each other and that is the problem for this. Upgrading the driver can be one of the best solution for this problem but you must try with this as well and see if this works for you or not. |

| re: GeForce GTX 590 Spiking Fan Speed without load
I have found a flaw that could make the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 590 dual GPU on fire. After frying two test cards, the support site says that the drivers are the cause. When you overclock the GTX 590 with 267.52 drivers, the card supposedly consumes more energy than it can actually handle and this causing it to overheat. This is the most basic reason for this issue. I know that this is not the solution for this issue but this could be the reason for this problem. So you must check for this. |

I would like to tell you that the 267.52 drivers avoid like the plague especially if you wanted to OC to GTX 590. Nvidia has released new drivers (v267.85) to improve protection for overloads and SweClocker has confirmed that to solve the problem. Although it is common sense, Nvidia says that anyone who overclocking or running stress tests should make use of the newest drivers accessible on the website of the company and not the ones that come on the disc as these are obviously outdated. I hope that this will be helpful to you. |

Although the drivers v267.85 improve the overload protection, Nvidia said that it is risky anyway alter the default frequencies and voltages. The company recommends leaving the voltage of the GTX 590 at its default level when using air cooling, while those with liquid cooling should be maintained between 12.5 to 25 mV. |

| re: GeForce GTX 590 Spiking Fan Speed without load
It must be admitted that with his first generation of DirectX 11 graphics chip, the GeForce GTX series, the dual GPU performance seemed very difficult for the firm because of the problems of consumption, heating and ventilation. If the engineers at NVIDIA have actually worked on the subject at the time of the GeForce GTX 480 then no commercial product has emerged. Having adjusted the bar on all these issues with the GeForce GTX 580, NVIDIA meets on a single card GeForce GTX 580 two chips. In terms of specifications, chips GF110 GeForce GTX 590's are not castrated: the number of units is identical in all respects to what is available on the GeForce GTX 580. It has 512 CUDA cores per chip, each chip with 64 texture units and 48 ROP units |

This seems that GF 110 chips powering the GeForce GTX 590 are strictly equivalent to what could offer two GeForce GTX 580 separately. This is just the thought that comes into my mind when I read your post. |

| re: GeForce GTX 590 Spiking Fan Speed without load
To maintain an appropriate thermal envelope, NVIDIA's engineers have had to revise downward frequency: every GF110 thus operates at 607 MHz against 772 MHz versions found in the GeForce GTX 580. This also impacts the stream processors running at 1215 MHz against 1544 MHz in normal times. In terms of memory, the situation is the same: the frequency is reduced with a frequency of 850 MHz 1 GHz against the GeForce GTX 580. In fact, the theoretical memory bandwidth drop from 192.4 to 163.6 GB / s (per chip). |

This might be due to the lose connection problem. So What you can do is, just disconnect that and connect it over again. Reconnecting might help you to get the issue resolved. |

Juvst open the case and clean all the dust from that. You can use some air pumping and that can solve the problem for you. |

I think that this is the time to update your BIOS. So update the BIOS to the latest version and see if that can solve the problem for you. |
