Cannot install AMD Radeon HD 5850

Hi friends recently I have bought AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and after that I have put it in my computer and after that I have installed the drivers of the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and after installing the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card drivers when I check in the system at that time I noticed that my computer is nor recognizing the my AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and it is still showing the onboard graphics only. What should i do to solve this issue?

I have gone through your problem and I will first tell you to please provide information about the computer such as your motherboard, RAM, processor, PSU and RAM. you should also check whether you have connect the graphic card in your computer properly because some time because of the connection issue also this type of problem can take place.

In my computer I am using motherboard with integrated graphic for good performance.

My computer specification is

• I have ASUS M5A78L-M USB3 motherboard AMD760G with Radeon 3000 Integrated
• Processor is AMD Phenom II X4 955
• RAM 4GB
• I am using StealthXStream II 500W PSU
• I have removed the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card from my computer and then I have placed it in my system again but that doesn’t make any difference. Please tell me what I should do to solve this problem.

I have refrred your computer specification and according to me you are facing this problem because you have not disabled the onboard graphics in your computer and that is why I would like to tell you that you should first disable the onboard graphics and after disabling the onboard graphics your system will recognize the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card.

If you don’t know about how to disable the AMD760G in your computer then you have to follow these steps. First you have to go to the BIOS menu and then you have to check whether there any option to disable the integrated graphics or not. if you get the option then you should first disable the AMD760G from there then you have to save that and then you have to restart the computer and then you have to check whether your system is recognizing the card or not.

If that idea does not help you then you should uninstall the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card drivers and then you have to restart the computer and then you have to install the drivers again and after installing the drivers again you have to check whether same problem is occurring or not. as far as I know after trying this solution your problem will get solved.

You have to first open the device manager in your computer by right clicking on my computer and then selecting the properties. Now after opening the device manger you have to click on the video device and then right click on your on board device and then you have to click on the uninstall option and after clicking on the uninstall you have to restart the computer. Now after that you have to insert the driver installation CD of your AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and after that you have to install the drivers and after installing the drivers you have to check whether same problem is occurring or not. I hope after trying this solution your problem will get solved.

Have you tried to download the drivers from the AMD official site and installing in your computer? if you have not tried then you should visit the AMD site and then search the AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and after that download the Catalyst Software Suite which includes all the drivers and after that install it in your system and after installing that you have to check whether same problem occurs again or not.

If that idea does not help you to solve this problem then you have to download the drivers individually instead of installing suite and after that you have check whether it makes any difference or not. if you need any moer help then let me know what the result is.

It looks like you are facing this problem because of the BIOS and I will suggest you to first download the BIOS update file from the internet and then you have to update the BIOS in your computer and after updating the BIOS in your computer you have to check whether your computer is recognizing the graphic card or not.

If after updating the BIOS also if you are still facing the same problem then I think problem is with your AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card and I would like to tell you that you should check your card with other computer and if you get the same problem with other computer also then problem you need to return your AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphic card to the retailer.
