Play skyrim on EVGA GTX 680 ultra settings without any performance issues

I have recently installed EVGA GTX 680 graphic card in my system for playing games like Skyrim and I am really looking forward to play Skyrim on ultra with lots of texture mods installed, so I just wanted to know if there is anyone who have played skyrim and has a 680 if yes then I will want to know that how was the performance was it better? What was the vram usage? ,in my case I am already having some mods installed. Any suggestion regarding this will be highly appreciated.

My system specification is as followed:
    • Motherboard Asus Crosshair III Formula
    • CPU AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
    • RAM Corsair 2x Vengeance
    • Graphics Card EVGA GTX 680
    • Power Supply Corsair AX750
    • Hard Drive Western Digital Black 1T

I have played Skyrim on the same and it was running great, in my case you can make out through my system specification that I am not having a cpu/mb combo which I think has let the card perform better, I have been running the game with the current setup and the Skyrim on ultra really worked out easily, I also wanted to add that I have faced some dips in FPS but then I am aware that it is because of the build that I am having, if you will ruin the game on 2500k then you wont have any such issues like in my case, I am quite happy with the card.

Re: Play skyrim on EVGA GTX 680 ultra settings without any performance issues

In my case I have tried running the game at 2560x1600 with a GTX 680 SC+ and having additional overclocks of : 132%, +50, +300 and I was able to maintain a constant 60 frames per second, I have been running the game like that and I have not yet gone further than this as I don’t think that there will be any point of going faster per the monitors refresh rate, the VRAM usage is around 1840 to 1940 and I have faced some fluctuations depending on the area where I was in the game, if you want then you can get the Sounds of Skyrim mods: Dungeons and The Wilds, I am looking forward to get the Civilization which will be just amazing but then it is not available yet, you can try running the game as I did and you won’t be having any issues.

Re: Play skyrim on EVGA GTX 680 ultra settings without any performance issues

    Here is my system specification:
    • CASE: HAF X
    • PSU: Cool Master 850W Silent
    • CPU: PhenomII x4 925 @ 3.794Ghz 1.383v HTLnk1896
    • CPU/GPU Cooling: Custom WC Loop (load 35c CPU/38c GPU)
    • GPU: EVGA GTX680 HC
    • MOBO: Biostar A870U3
    • MEMORY: Corsair Vengeance 4x4GB DDR3 @ 1445 8-8-8-20-27-1t CPUNB=1.225v NBFreq=2439
    • Main HD: OCS Agility3 SATAIII 120gb
    • HDD: 3 x 1TB 7200rpm SATAII 32mb cache
    • OS: Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1

I just wanted to add that 925 is hampering the 680HC but then the skyrim is running fine without any issues and I am getting 40's FPS at the lowest, when I check out the percisionX then it says that the game is running at 60%, I have maxed out everything at 1920x1080p 25" in my case, I think that you will be please with EVGA GTX 680 while running skyrim on ultra settings as you have mentioned that you are having some mods.

Re: Play skyrim on EVGA GTX 680 ultra settings without any performance issues

Even I wanted to share that I am running a 2500K @ 5.02GHz with my 680 at stock settings and I have tried running Skyrim with the possible high resolution and the EVGA GTX680 is just running the Skyrim very smoothly at 1920x1220 with everything maxed out,I have found that when VSYNC is enabled then I get a solid 60+fps, I have played other games as well and I have got the same response., so if you want than even you can run Skyrim with vsync+triplebuffering+58fps cap in nvidia inspector. The game just runs great with all the best hd texture mods as I have already mentioned but then when I am maxing out the VRAM then even I face some flickering in some area of the map but then I am not having any issues when I am running the game at 1920x1080 60hz single monitor. Since you have mentioned that you are having some mods I just wanted to know that are you running ENB Mod if yes then they can be devastating on FPS.
