The negative points about 4 NVRM: GPU (0000:01:00.0).

    Hello everyone
I am not confident this is the correct medium for the problem but I am so worried so I give it a attempt here. I have a Dell Precision [M6500] with Nvidia Quadro [FX 2800]. The driver is the newest, that is 280.13. At a random time later than boot, can be fewer than 2 minutes, my display vanish. After I reboot my device I observe the following message in the log /var/ messages:
(((NVRM: GPU at 0000:01:00.0 has fallen off the bus)))Any answer for this situation will be much respected.

I'm considering exactly the same troubles on my Dell [M6500] that above information. I'm operating Fedora fourteen and also utilizing the [280.13] driver, out of the RPMFUSION storehouse. I can't pinpoint precisely when the trouble appeared but it began around the instance I upgraded from the two sixty driver in early on September, while I didn't linked it with the upgrade at the occasion. I'll attempt to relapse to two sixty and report back if the trouble disappears.

I have the similar difficulty here. With the drivers which are [280.13], I obtain "fell off bus" messages in DMESG, but with [275.21] it mechanism nicely. Here's the dmesg message I got it when X crashes: -(((NVRM: GPU at 0000:02:00.0 has fallen off the bus.))) when I'm on Arch Linux which is 64-bit. And my lspci:[ 01:00.0] and compatible controller VGA:- G92 [GeForce GTS 250] (rev a2)which is nVidia Corporation with kernel 3.0.

Acceptable I've been managing for two days with the two sixty driver from the RPMFUSION storehouse (managing [64-bit] Fedora [14]), and have had no extra ["fallen off the bus"] crashes. It's still a small too soon to say for definite, but it's definite looking like a matter in the two eighty driver to me.

I doubt if the message [GPU has fallen off the bus] is the Linux corresponding of the error "Display driver has congested responding and has recovered" that seems to be occurring at many in Windows with the newest 280.xx drivers for various people. Have you tried older drivers such as the [275.21]? Also attempt reseating the card in the PCIE slot and re-connecting the power connectors if it has some?
