White Screen On Start Up - Monitor not Working

Hi,

This is my first post so bare with me if I miss something out....

Ok, I have an acer 6920g its on vista. When I start the laptop up the monitor lights up white and after afew minutes goes black. I have connected it to an external monitor and the laptop is working.

The background of the issue is I've mucked something up after doing a heatsink repair, the laptop kept shutting down from overheating which now seems sorted but I've obviously messed up somewhere.

Any suggestions welcome...

Hello As you are saying that you try to connect your laptop with the External monitor and its working, so as per my knowledge your monitor will be faulty. because if it occurs with any other monitor then maybe there is issue of drivers or something else but if its working good on another monitor then your this laptop monitor is break down. so if its under warranty then i will suggest you to bring it to the dell support and tell them about your query. I hope this will help you.
