what will be the requirement of PSU for Nvidia Geforce 580 GTX sli

I'm building a new computer with a Core i7 2600K p8z68 Asus - rev 3 Pro, 8GB Corsair 2x EVGA GTX 580 divergence super clocked. My question is I have the intention to OC my cpu, but I'll leave the GPU as they come. Do you think a corsair AX1200 gold certificates are a sufficient power supply with a little room to spare? or I suggest going to a 1500w Silverstone strider. I've also been looking around and my understanding Egva would probably be the best brand to go with the fact that its Guarantee is much longer than any other company? Currently I have a computer running an Asus 580gtx and I know that only 1 year. Can anyone solve my problem? Please help me out.

I read your problem and I conclude that you want some help regarding to system building. I think I can give you some suggestion to solve your problem. I think amplifiers are more important than watts. also that the total can be distributed on the rails. so if you have 2 12v rails at 35 amps then it’s ok in this case. if not, then you need defiantly Improvement for your system work. Also do yourself a favor and get the ANTEC 1200 so you do not need to update anymore. I hope this may help you to solve your problem.

I want to give you some suggestion for fixing your issue. But I am not sure about the result though you can try this information for better experience.i think 1200 should be good enough to kill you would probably be fine with a 850 or a 1000 (but 1200 would be great if you upgrade later) and I would suggest to push the 580 is a bit more with the MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision I mean that these cards, why not? I can help you upto this extent only. may this helpful to you.

I think I can give you better advice for solving this kind problem.I've taken most of the wall as bench press is 900 W (-10% to 90% efficiency) = 810w, which was running a 950@4.25GHz i7 and a pair of 3 Gb 580 of 940MHz operation a 850W quality unit is a lot, but if u want to have a little more space for the possible addition of another 580 sometime after 1000w unit would be a better option, even with 3-way SLI or never need a 1500W power supply.

After reading your description I think you want to build a good architecture. Here I am giving you some idea about that. That might help you in the building. I think that is an exaggeration of my friend uses a pair of SC 480 with power 850 watts thermaltake hard, I said it was fine and perfect a 580 operates on less power to HX-1000 Watt or silver stone 1000 watt thermaltake tough power or 1000 watts is good and perfect and perhaps an exaggeration, I do not think that anyone who made comments that can go SLI with three SLI so you should be fine.

You can solve your problem very easily by getting some help on the web. But then also I am giving you some suggestions for that. I think a good 450 watt can handle a GTX 580 (which requires a little more power a GTX 470), leaving less room for overclocking. 500-550 A good unit will be more than enough. I'd say the 580 and an Intel Core i7 @ i7-920@3.33GHz uses 390 watts while loading Furmark. This raises an eyebrow, because nothing will stress your card of this type. I would say yes a 450 should be able to do so. So you can use it for your building purpose also.

My opinion may be the different than others. But this is my own statements so you can use it or throw it doesn’t matter. Just pay a small attention to my words. The requirement is the minimum NVIDIA very basic and often unrealistic, the EVGA I think they are closer to the truth I want a beefy PSU to power the 580. I must say it's a bad (or at least very mediocre) 450W unit. Can a good handle 450W unit? Probably, I would not do in this case. Hope this will work for you. Thank you.
