Nvidia 6xx series going to be Cypress vs Fermi again?

Nvidia's descendant to Fermi design and its foremost 28nm fraction won’t launch until first quarter 2012. ATI is at rest on timetable to start on its 28nm chip during 2011and ATI’s chip will be exaggerated by the similar problems, mostly the deprived yields of the 28nm course. Transitioning toward a latest process into the graphics word is for all time sore, and it took TSMC plenty to depart from 65nm toward 40nm and currently, they are yet again faced with a tricky change to 28nm and awful yields meant for quarters to draw closer. Therefore essentially ATI isn’t having the equal quantity of issues nvidia is through the process, and are going to have future generation chips out Q3 2011, whilst Nvidia is going to be Q1 2012.

NVIDIA revealed official details of the architecture of "Fermi" and GF100, which will come to claim the throne of graphics performance compared to the architecture of the Radeon HD 5800-based core of Cypress, in the following white paper shredded both architectures for your information we will provide detailed Fermi NVIDIA compared to what AMD already offers. Although they are different architectures and not comparable in numerical terms, if we used to get an idea of what we offer both sides.

I think Nvidia is in a critical situation, with so many things that have gone wrong, and starts giving me dizzy, I hope that after all those mistakes corrected and put on the market something to them, that's too bad that things ARE up going bad But there are also good to keep in mind that this is new technology and that logic cannot go right the first time, is not it? An example, AMD with Phenom, then had to get Phenom II core problems, hopefully the winds will change and improve their product.

There were many rumors about this chip, the Nvidia did even send into circulation. But nothing is as hot as it is cooked GE forgotten. At the end of disillusionment with the NVidia trailers. Too high were the expectations that had been put into this chip. The field of single-GPU Fermi leads to clear, but at the cost of a horrendous power, abnormal heat and a fan that can make the engine of an F16 competition problems. Fermi is thus a repetition of the NV30 disaster.

The new reincarnation of FERMI, in the form of the new GPU GF110 keeps all the three billion transistors and 40nm manufacturing process but with some minor corrections here and now is able to express its full potential and how we will annihilate the competition. The new GPU GF110 allows Nvidia to use the GPU so with all the CUDA cores and 512, and also go well with the higher frequencies. ATI RV870 from the cut as much as 22mm on a side down to roughly 18mm x 18mm. The problem is that RV770 was around 16mm on a side. The RV870 was silent too big.

For me at the moment is clearly one that Nvidia with their backs to the wall. The Fermi is definitely a great GPU, but unfortunately not up to date. Of the features it is very similar to the time advance and the power consumption of time just return. One small step for the Christmas season, which would have been contemporary and includes both aspects would, so you could compete with ATI would have been much better. Then add the ATI is still a refresh for the middle of the year, has announced regarding the 5000 series. So Nvidia is again under pressure. The Fermi is then just finished on the market; ATI is able to react with the 6-month head start it immediately. ATI with its prices alone has much greater leeway, because you get more chips from a wafer than Nvidia.

The improvements from NVIDIA are both quantitatively, as the number of components has risen by a high percentage and also in terms of quality by adding new technologies such as DirectX 11 support, improved treatment geometric and also the visuals and image quality, performance general purpose computing is also a substantial increase inexorably (though there are no numbers yet).
