Upgrading Video Card and Processor for my old Dell XPS Studio 1640

Hi, I have one old Dell laptop with XPS Studio 1640 Processor (2.4 G, 25W). And my pc configuration is 2 GB of RAM. I am looking to upgrade my laptop to T9900 (3.06G, 35W).I also have graphics card which have ATI mobility radeon hard drive 3670 or suggest me is there is any good option available for up-gradation .So please suggest me the processor and video card which can I upgrade .please post .Thanks.

First of all you have to know that your graphics card is soldered onto the motherboard. So if you want to upgrade your graphics card U don’t need to change your laptop .I don’t know why you are going for such up-gradations .I think you upgrade RAM ,and your video card . Also take care that it must be able to handle 35 watt processors. So if you are going to upgrade your processor you can go for core 2 deo.

It’s depends upon your usage that u should upgrade your laptop’s configuration or not, If you want to play games on it. I prefer you should go for <3GB of ram and 1 GB of Video card>Desktop Computer because it will be much chipper also you will get a good preview. Also if you go for using it for watching videos listing songs I think there is no need to make any upgrade. Hope this helps.

Ok .Thanks for reply, I think I should go for video card upgrade so I can enjoy games and movies with great virtual environment. Because still it is working fine and for me also If I want to play games its again much continent and don’t need to buy any much more. This will be much cheaper and I will save my money to. Thanks for sharing your idea which will save my money.
