Does video game performance gets improved by having more than 1 graphics card

I have ATI Radeon HD 6850 graphics cards, and I cannot max a game, if I add another graphics card (same or dissimilar, does not matter) that can be up to a game? And no, I have no trouble maxing whatever thing, I'm seeming for another VGA at the moment is only an issue that has hassle me, my bro says he does nothing because the second graphics card is only useful when playing with multiple monitors, but I do not believe so. Is it true, I necessitate your opinion on this serious?

Well, you have the right HD 6850. If you are going to get Crossfire is about 2 times the performance of a HD 6850. Since the expansion will not be perfect does not really offer a twice performance, but usually comes close. Also generally depends on the game you play, so my opinion is to go for the crossfire, I assume it doubles the performance. For this you necessitate to include two PCI slots and undeniably VGA - E slots on the motherboard

I believe adding another in the same letter will win 90 to 95% yield, not quite twice over but close enough. The other thing I suggest is to keep your VRAM utilization under control in the coming years. Windows uses system RAM as VRAM, but overuse can cancel the optimization expands from SLI or Crossfire. The most important attraction is the likelihood of adding a second card later in place of getting a fresh card.

I always consider Crossfire / SLI as a gift for those who can afford the top of the finest. Personally, I consider it's a waste of dollars for SLI / Crossfire medium / low end video cards like the top of the line card can give about SLI / Crossfire gain as an alternative of two medium / low cards end. It will also take the wrong word for the graphics card. I think what you mean is GPU (Graphics Card) and not VGA, which is a type of PC monitor connection.

Well, I assume that 2 video cards are linked together internally so they can function mutually. You also need two PCI-E motherboard, at least 8 times. This nearly doubles the optimization (and you must for eternity use couple of GPUs). The output can go to a particular monitor; you do not require surplus rather than an individual monitor. SLI fasten mutually several cards which raise the system gain up, but it also depends upon the processor.
