Is it possible to use Dell U2711 at 2560 x 1440 resolution with Acer 1810T through HDMI

I have Acer 1810T laptop and I am using it from last few months. Normally I use my laptop for playing games and watching movies. Now some days before I have purchased Dell U2711 monitor for my desktop. Now I want to know about can I connect my laptop with my new monitor and can I use It 2560 x 1440 resolutions? If anyone have any idea regarding this then please help me.

After going through your post I would like to tell you that you cannot get 2560 x 1440 resolution in your monitor after connecting it with your Acer laptop. The maximum resolution which you can get is 1920 X 1080. If you want to confirm this then you can confirm it after connecting your laptop with your Dell monitor and after that check In the resolution setting whether you are getting option for 2560 x 1440 as maximum resolution. I hope this information will be helpful for you.

I am not agree with above post because I have searched in the internet and I have find that Dell U2711 monitor can work on 2560 x 1440 resolution. According to me you can connect your laptop through HDMI with Dell U2711 monitor and after you can enjoy your games and movies on your monitor at high resolutions. If you find any difficulty then let me know.

Thank you so much for giving me above information and helping me. as you have said in your post that I can connect my laptop with my monitor with my Acer laptop after reading that I have connect my laptop with my monitor through HDMI and after that it worked fine but main problem is I am not getting 2560 x 1440 resolution. The maximum resolution which I am getting is 1920 X 1080. Please tell me what5 should I do to fix this. Any help will be appreciated.

It looks like your laptop is not computable to give output at 2560 x 1440 resolution. If you want to confirm that then connect your Dell U2711 monitor with any other laptop and after that check whether you are able to get 2560 x 1440 resolution or not. If you didn’t find any issue with other laptop then it means that your laptop can not give output on 2560 x 1440 resolution. i hope this trick will help you to detect exact problem.

I have one solution to fix this. If you want to connect your monitor with your laptop at 2560 x 1440 resolution, then you have to update your graphic driver and after doing that you will be able to connect your monitor with your Acer laptop. you can download the updated graphic driver from Acer official web site. After visiting the Acer website you have to click on the support and after that Driver downloads. Now after doing that you have to select your laptop and your operating system adn then download the graphic driver in your laptop and install it. I hope this trick will fix your issue.

I have search on the internet and after that I have downloaded updated graphic driver for my laptop. Now after downloading the updated graphic driver for my laptop I have removed old drivers from my laptop and after removing that I have restart the laptop. Now after that I have installed updated drivers in my laptop and after doing that when I connect my laptop with monitor at that time I didn’t get any issue.
