How do I compare laptop video cards to desktop video cards?

I understand that the first number is the series. How do you read the numbers in laptop video cards? For example the GeForce GT 335m vs GeForce 6600GT. Which is better? I don't know how to find out if my laptop video card can run games because the always say the desktop version. What is the equivalent to the GeForce GT 335m and how do you find out? I understand how to tell the better desktop card, so what is the difference?

Re: How do I compare laptop video cards to desktop video cards?

According to me the desktop video cards is quite good. There are two main reasons for it one of them is that it is very much difficult for the laptops graphic card to get upgraded we have to send to the service center fr the upgradation. Secondly the performance is quite good in the desktop's graphic card. Even it has a inbuilt fan in it. That does adds the improvement in the performance.
