MSI GTX560ti Hawk graphics score low 3dmark11

I had recently purchased an MSI GTX560ti Hawk. I ran a 3dmark11 on it and on performance mode; I could only get P1650 score. The FPS averaged around 6-7 and the graphics score is very low. The package box suggested to use a minimum 600W PSU, but I managed to boot into windows and play games with my 550W. I am able to run Assassin Creed Brotherhood and Shogun 2 on very high graphic settings. Is the low 3dmark11 graphics score due to low PSU power supply? Here are my specifications:
    • Asus P5Q motherboard
    • Gigabyte Odin GT 550w PSU
    • Intel Q9550 oc@ 3.67GHz
    • Kingston DDR2 2x2GB @ 800MHz
    • Intel X25-M 160GB SSD
    • MSI GTX560ti Hawk

I am having the having GTX275 which has the PSU same as you have mentioned for more than 1 and a ½ year. And I did not find any issue with it so far. There is not issue over your PSU, as on each 4 of 12V rails that is capable of your 18A which your PSU is giving, which means over all of the 4 you get a maximum of 41A so that might not be a issue. We cannot depend on the Watt number as they are unreliable. It only counts the 12V rail’s Amps.

I was also facing the same problem a few months before, but now I have solved me, and now I am not facing any more problems. Try to install the latest beta drivers from nvidia, it would probably solve the problem. Or if, in future you want to replace your PSU power supply, then consider the Corsair TX650. The artifacts will ONLY appear when tessellation is turned on.

When you run a new driver, you always have a new install option to install new drivers. Select to install a new driver so that it does not get mess up with other drivers which are previously been installed. You can run the MSI Afterburner or you can also download GPU-Z and run it on your background, when you get your computer freezed up. You can check out that your GPU has dropped its usage by pressing ALT+TAB when you get freezed up.

Try running Heavens benchmark with tessellation on as well. With reference clock, there will be no artifact. Try bumping the voltage until make it stable at default clocks, I think it should work correctly. If all of these methods do not work properly, go back to the shop and ask them to check it out with another PSU too. If it doesn’t work then it is sure that, there is a problem in your graphic card. Try replacing it with a new one.
