Should I upgrade BIOS of Toshiba Qosmio X505 - Q880 to Version2.9?

Hello guys I am having Toshiba Qosmio X505 - Q880 laptop I have purchased It last year, and the BIOS version on it is V2.60. I thinking to upgrade the BIOS version but the problem is I heard that there is some issue with the BIOS version 2.90. But I am not sure about those things so guys can you tell should I upgrade to the V2.90 and what are the ways to upgrade the BIOS, I am very new to all this stuffs. Please help.

Well dude I am agree with BIOS version 2.9 don’t have any issue with it in fact it has better brightness. And yes flashing with CD-ROM is the best option, this is also specified on the Microsoft site as well. But don’t forget to take a copy of older BIOS on a separate CD because while flashing if something goes wrong then at least you will have a back up of the previous BIOS and you can easily reload that BIOS on system. So go with the CD-ROM flash.

Dude I have also upgraded my BIOS from the 2.00 version to the 2.90version I have Toshiba X505-Q879 with n Windows 7.i have updated it using the CD because this is the most safe method to update.i have botted from CD ROM I created via the ImgBurn and I didn’t faced any problem in that. But after completing the BIOS update machine restarted automatically and on the start screen it didn’t show any message like BIOS update is successful. But with the brightness on the screen it was clear that update was successful.

Well that’s good if it gives greater brightness and other functionality. But I am not upgrading my BIOS. I have BIOS V2.2 and to be very frank I don’t have any issue with it. And I didn’t heard that the advanced version provides some more functionality or features on the system, so in my point is better to stick with your BIOS version because there is hardly any special feature for the new BIOS version.

Hey guys thanks a lot for posting so quickly here, even I don’t have any issue with the BIOS V2.6. but yes even I am not happy with the brightness of the screen that’s why I want to upgrade to the 2.9 version of BIOS. And after reading the above post now I am upgrading the BIOS version using the CD. Thank you guys for helping me out, and providing the sufficient information to update the BIOS of the system.
