VGA to 1080p on my Dell 2407WFP-HC

Sunday connect the XBOX360 to my dell 2407WFP-HC monitor component when I realized I did not work in 1080p mode. It is seen that only supports 720p or 1080i. My question is: an official from VGA to 1080p? DVI is that I have connected my computer. The screen has no HDMI, but there is a HDMI-DVI converter. Anyone here has any idea or any addition information for this? Please if anyone finds any information for this than please provide me. Thanks for any help…

Many monitors do not support 1080p over component is normal. If you have the DVI busy, I would connect to VGA. You put the console at 1920x1080 (in the case of VGA is not entirely correct to speak of 1080p, 1920x1080 resolution is equivalent). The only thing is that your monitor will probably have a native resolution of 1920x1200 because the monitors are "more square" than the TVs. The monitors have a ratio of 16/10 instead of 16 / 9. Since the image 360 will remove your monitor is 16:9 and 16:10, you'll need to activate the ARC (sounds like your Dell you have one), also called "1:1 pixel mapping" for the monitor not stretch.

I guess you say you put 1:1, and I do and by component, that if this part pro no problem. So, in theory, should work for the maximum resolution vga right? I need a special cable? There Component to VGA converter? Moreover, I see some VGA cables that sell to the maximum resolution are 1080i, the case is that, put components 1080 and told me to not take it, I will do the same? Another last thing: there are switches DVI?

It looks that you should choose the 1:1 mode. Anyway, try out the different modes once you connect to see what is good. Please note that your monitor is 1200 pixels high (native resolution) while the image will be 1080. Therefore, if the monitor shows the image without deforming, should be two black bars of 60 pixels each above and below the image. If using this mode, the picture has two small black bands, is correct. If the image fills the screen, the monitor will rescale (and deforming) somewhere. However, to connect the VGA console need a special cable that takes VGA port A / V console? It appears that the official Microsoft is the best (the one I have and doing well, have not tried others). The cable in question takes a VGA connector for video and two RCA connectors for stereo audio.

On the VGA cable only supports up to 1080i, I am surprised a little, because, VGA cannot talk about p-io. VGA resolutions are always p by definition, and there are no cables to support different more or less resolution. Any cable will, at first, but depending on your signal quality will be better and more satisfactory visual outcome. If you do not want to complicate, MS buys that, although it is somewhat expensive, you know it works perfectly. I am not sure that there are switches DVI, but HDMI is that there, so I guess it also be the first.
