Does Radeon HD 5870 run Crysis 2 demo at 60 fps?

I am using a Sapphire 5850 as my video card and play games like Crysis 2 on my system. So I just want to know that with the help of Radeon HD 5870 can Crysis 2 demo run at a 60fps.I had just checked and found out that my Sapphire 5850 hits at around 45-50 fps. Also I have another option to go with and that is I can opt for a cheap 5870.So please help me on this issue and tell me if I should go for the cheap 5870 or not. I am waiting for your solutions.

I just went through the question that you have posted and I feel that probably it is not possible with Radeon HD 5870 to run Crysis 2 at 60 fps. But as you have mentioned out there in the question that you are getting a cheap 5870 then I feel that you should go ahead with it. Or there is one more thing which you can do is that you can just over clock the 5850 to 5870 speed or higher. So you can try this option and see if it works for you or not.

According to me you can always go ahead with the Radeon HD 5870 as you are getting it in some low cost. Also one more thing which you can do is that you can run it alongside the 5850 in crossfire. For that what you just have to do is OC the 5850 a little to reduce sync issues and minimize the micro stutter. But while doing so you need to remember that you would have to wait for the crossfire profile for the Crysis 2.But this can be achieved using a Redeon Pro. So this is one more option you can always try out.

I went through the solution that is provided earlier and it says that you should be buying the 5870 and running it alongside your 5850 in crossfire. Yes I feel that very good idea and you have to go ahead with this solution itself to fix the issue. This is the reason why that's why I like ATI very much as it provides you with the luxury of mix matching certain cards wonderful. Also remember that the DX11 support will come with a patch which is being released after the game's launch. So it will be a very good option to go with.

If I had been in a similar situation as you are in right now then I would have gone for 5870 any day. What I would have done is I would have used it as a primary GFX adaptor and then crossfire with the 5850.While doing that I would have used Radeon pro to create a profile for Crysis 2 to disable crossfire for the time being. That is why we need to forcibly disable crossfire for the time being. After that I am sure that your fps will increase and may reach to your desired value.

You can also look out for some other cards and go for cards like MSI 6870 Hawk which looks to be a great card with the factory over clock. It is also very reliable and has a very good cooler. Or there is one more thing that you can do. If you can extend your budget a bit get a 560 Ti and with a good over clock might also help. My system runs the Crysis 2 demo at around 80-90fps.But as mentioned before there is always a solution where you can just go with crossfire which will be a good idea.
